2012 Expedition SA keys EvoRide wont program

+1 vote
After fighting like an idiot, I finally came to the FAQ where it says, even with SA keys it might be a 40 Bit. YESSSSSSSS   column looks like a 2009 F250 it all makes sens. So I program Evo Ride like a 40 Bit. All sequence goes good, led flashes, hit brakes, remote shut down. Try to star truck it starts.  yey  . Attach byass under dash ect. Try again  , No Start.  Being a 40 Bit I decide to try a Key Overide All.  did same truck started righ away  on programing sequence. attach modul under dash  ( very softly not to pull any wires away. 0  truck don start again Theft light is flashing like it should with wrong transponder.

I have never been able to get an EVO RIDE able to work in the 2012 & up key start Expeditions and I do ALOT of them for a Ford dealer here.  Every Expedition I've done test as a 40bit key (but looks like the 2011 F150 80bit key*).  It programs fine as a 40 bit module, but it will only remote start once.  I've tried every option, even wiring like the '12 up Focus.  Doesn't work and tech says they've never heard of it.  What's the point of using a CAN module when it's not needed (other non-CAN modules work fine, but not the RIDE).

*RIDES work great in the 2011 & up F150's

EVO-RIDE with Ford Expedition may require a special connection.

The Tx wire needs to be open during remote start. You can use the relays on the EVO-RIDE to do this (white/red and white/green), just make sure the Tx output from the 6-pin connector is on the vehicle side of the cut.

  • You may need to use firmware 0.17 if the most recent firmware (2.05) does not flick the relay on ground-out.
