2008 Altima PTS EVO-ALL, cannot shut down after remote start

0 votes
Installed an EVO-ALL in 2008 Altima SE PTS. The EVO starts the car with 3xlock, but will not shut the car off with 3xlock. The blue led on the evo blinks with push of lock on oem fob, but only before a remote start. After car is running under remote start, the blue led on evo no longer resonds to lock commands.

So basically, the evo is seeing lock commands only before a remote start. After remote start, the evo no longer sees lock commands.

Also, the car shuts down after door is opened. All wires are connected as per instructions.

Any ideas?

Under Advanced feature in the compatibility chart of the 2007 & 2008 Nissan Altima and Infiniti G35 , 3x Lock start is not listed. Mainly because the OEM remote cannot be monitored once the car is running. https://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/nissan/altima/2008-push-to-start/

Stand Alone is supported though because the unit can be used with an RF-KIT.

What does the EVO need to see when monitoring lock/unlock? Because the car will still lock/unlock, but the evo isn't seeing the lock. I can locate a ground pulse from door lock in the car, so can I just tie A2 (purple (-) lock) to the lock ground pulse?
the unit monitors door locks through CAN-BUS.

The a2 and a3 inputs are for control of doorlocks from an external aftermarket device, not for monitoring doorlocks.
OK, I see now. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I thought the a2 and a3 were for monitoring.

So I guess I have one more question. This unit is installed in my own personal vehicle. What would be the down falls of leaving a2, a3, and a15 disconnected? The only problem I've noticed doing it like this is that the car cannot be shut off with remote. If that is the only problem, I can live with that.
There's a feature on the car called something to the efffect of ignition controlled unlock. This automatically unlocks the doors whenever you turn your ignition off.

If the feature is enabled in the car, and you remote start the vehicle and let it run its full 15 minute runtime and automatically shut down, the doors will unlock. (since it sees ignition turn off)

Ideally you will want to have both lock and unlock connected. so thatt it can relock the doors after remote start shut down.
My car must not have that feature enabled, because after a time-out remote start my doors stay locked.

Also, after I disconnected a15, my car no longer shuts down after opening the door.

Thanks Robb for all your help, if you can think of any other kind of problems that may occur with my set-up, please let me know.

So far, it seems to be working to my satisfaction. I can deal with not being able to remote-shutdown. I figure if I remote starts it, I'm going to be driving it somewhere anyways so I dont see a need (for me anyways) to be able to remote-shutdown.

Thanks again, Scott.
