Confused about which install instructions to go with on a 2013 wrx

Hello,

I had some questions that I am trying to figure out.  I have a 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX manual transmission.  (located in the US if that makes a difference)

I am looking at the EVO one kit for my remote starting needs.  When I type in my car's info on your website it suggests that I need the TB-SUBARU2 REQUIRED FOR IMMOBILIZER BYPASS.  When I click on the instructions for the install on the EVO one, it gives me very simple instructions and a few wires to install along with the bypass.  It does not talk about how I need to bypass my clutch pedal or anything.  It seems to be a very straight forward and easy install.

When I was talking to a dealer about purchasing the said products he mentioned that I do not need the immobilizer bypass and that the EVO one, paired with the flash updater, will be able to copy my key and use that as my bypass.  When I looked further into this, I typed in my car being a 2013 subaru impreza wrx STI and the instructions for that confirmed I can use the built in bypass.  I confirmed with subaru that the keys for my 2013 wrx and a 2013 wrx sti are the same.  The instructions listed for the STI are also much more in-depth and talk about doing a clutch bypass along with a lot more wires that need to be installed and tapped into.

I am confused as to which one I should follow.  The STI instructions are more complicated but seem to cover what I need, However the WRX instructions do vary so I wanted to confirm which one I should follow.

Also, on the STI instructions, it says for a manual transmission, you need to have a relay and (2) 1 amp diodes.  I only see 1 diode being using in the diagram for the clutch switch.  Where is the other being utilized?  Also on the diagram for the STI, for the connections to E5, I do not understand what that symbol means (2 dots with a squiggly line).

Lastly, would there ever be a T harness for the subaru?

Yes you can follow the STI wiring guide #57441, this a very recent update and WRX has not been added to it yet.

There is no t-harness available for this car right now. Just got one out for the newer models, but will not work in your vehicle.

The 2 dots and squiggly line is a fuse. It's already mounted on the EVOONE harness.

This is not the easiest install, professional installation is recommended. Flashlink updater 2 will also be needed for this installation.
