I'm confused as to exactly what to purchase

0 votes
I have a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado.  Work Truck..  It does have On-Star (which I don't use)   I want to use my factory remote..   The truck never had the remote start.    From what I've learnt, I'd use the 3X lock button on the OEM remote.

Youtube video     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qYgw8yuLHk   appears to be pretty simple...    Doesn't meantion anything about needing a flash link or anything about "datalink" in the video so I'm not sure what i need regarding that....

Can you advise exactly what I need and if the video is accurate?

We highly recommend downloading the actual guide from our website here:http://ca.fortin.ca/en/vehicles/chevrolet/silverado_1500/2015/ instead of watching youtube videos which are highly edited and do not show all the necessary steps and tools (flashlink updater-2)

The pdf file is right below the product online, and you should follow connection c, Options C1 and D1 will need to be enabled and possibly D2 if the vehicle has an oem alarm system.

The recommended solution for your vehicle would be the Evo-GMT3 plus the Flashlink Updater-2, the evo unit will have to be set up for standalone use, and in case the vehicle is locked against new key programming the Flashlink Upddater-2 will be used for the dcryptor process (key cloning)

Thank you,
