2013 F-150, EVO-ALL hang up

+1 vote
I've never had this issue with one of these trucks before. 2013 F-150. Crimestopper LC R.S., EVO-ALL (71.28) & THAR-FOR1.

Step 8 of programming, just hangs up. Red/Blue lights never flash, just remain on.

Tried programming key bypass seperatley still with no luck...

Make sure you have the altest version of the installation guide, a few things were changed on Ford a few weeks back. It shouldn't affect programming though but you never know.

The programming is super easy to troubleshoot though on this truck.

  • When the first key goes on, All three LEDs will turn ON ( Red, Yellow, Blue)
  • When the second key goes on, only the Blue and Red should be On.
    • if the yellow LED is still on when you put the second key On, there;s an issue with Rx and/or Tx
    • it's also possible that EVO-ALL is actually keeping ignition On even though you turned the key off. Just do the programming without connecting the RED connector to the EVO. Reconnect it once programming is done.
  • When the first key goes on the second time (step 8), door locks should cycle
    • this is the vehicle confirming to you that you have entered programming
    • you should be able to allow the vehicle to enter programming following the Key1-Key2-Key1 procedure without the EVO even connected.

Well, that was part of it. The red plug was infact keeping ign. powered up. Its keeping it powered up, all the time, anytime I plug in the red connector.

Yellow from the EVO main harness is connected to the yellow/black from the T harness along with Ign. from the R.S.

Anyway, key bypass programs now, but CAN will not.

Yes, I am using that guide. Too bad you guys changed stuff recently. Never had any problems before.

ETA: Something with the plug in T-harness wasn't right. Removed the T-harness, leaving everything else intact, and hardwired. Programmed first try. and ign. now shuts down as its supposed to.

Wonder if there was a short in the harness somewhere. Until Can is programmed though, the EVO may flick the relay (red connector) not knowing what car it's actually in yet.

I saw this happen on a 2010 edge on monday (i know, the tharness is not listed for the 2010 Edge). His problem(s) was.

  1. GM firmware was loaded on the unit
  2. Can-Bus was never programmed
  3. Option B2 was enabled in the settings
